What is an MUN? Why GWISMUN?

MUN stands for ‘Model United Nations’. It is a simulation of the real United Nations where students meet to discuss and find solutions to real world problems from the viewpoint of the countries they are selected to represent. GWISMUN is a conference you can trust, with an experienced executive board and fun topics that will no doubt develop your skills in a variety of areas, including public speaking, confidence, research, and more.

Who can attend GWISMUN2020?

Any school student in Year 7/Grade 6 or above can attend GWISMUN2020 as part of an approved school delegation. External delegates will not be permitted to attend without such a school delegation.

Where will GWISMUN2020 take place?

GWISMUN2020 will be held at the GEMS Wellington International School campus, Al Sufouh, Dubai; between April 16th and 18th, 2020.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, a registration fee is necessary to deliver the experience that we do. The fee and payment portal can be found here.

What is the language of the conference?

All committee sessions will be held in English.

Are meals provided at the conference?

Yes, dinner will be provided on Thursday, and lunch on Friday and Saturday; with vegetarian options.

Are laptops allowed in committee sessions?

Yes, laptops are allowed in committee for research purposes. The chair has the right to ask that delegates refrain from the use of their laptops at specific times.

Is there a dress code for the conference?

Delegates and chairs are requested to wear formal business or local attire to the conference.
